Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Blush Palette
So this post was delayed for a number of reasons! But it’s here now. Behold, the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Blush Palette! So I may have been a bit late to the party. I mean, I don’t mean to jump on the whole beauty blogging bandwagon, but, man, it’s amazing and couldn’t not feature it on here!
I love that the peachy blushers (Easy, Lush and Lo-Fi) just complement, warmer olive skin tones like mine and are rich in pigment. The only shade I wouldn’t wear in this palette is Cherry as it looks far too chalky on my face and it’s probably a bit too pale pink for my skintone. If you’ve got porcelain skintone, then it’s great but for medium/deeper skintones it’s a no-go zone. The same goes for the other two bronzing shades, Lo-Fi and OC as they blended in with my skintone WAY too much, you can barely see them. There’s definitely no way you could contour with them. For me, anyway.
The highlighting colours are also great and complement the blush colours really well. My favourite shades have got to be Hush and Easy and they add just the right amount of shimmer without looking to intense – perfect for daytime. They look awesome when blended together. If you want a more intense look then maybe it’s not quite right, but for me, I like a bit of subtlety
Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Lipstick and Lip Pencil in Ex-Girlfriend
Finding a nude lipstick that I can wear with my skintone has proved to be a real challenge. A lot of the ones I tried out blended in way too much with my skintone so it looks like I’m not wearing anything on my lips, which I didn’t like.
But then I found this gorgeous sheer nude lipstick, also part of the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Collection. And it’s proved to be the holy grail of lipsticks. I mean, seriously, this may be one of my absolute favourite lipsticks EVER! So much so, that I had to immediately go ahead and order the matching lip pencil too!
It doesn’t so up as much on medium deep/black skin as it does on more paler skintones, so bear that in mind. It’s great for my daytime look, especially if I’m going for that ‘no makeup’ makeup look.
It’s not so nude that it makes my lips look completely washed out and too blended in with the rest of my skin tone. Like I’m not wearing anything at all on my lips. It’s a sheer brown but with slightly rosy undertones to it, which I absolutely love. What’s more it’s also long-lasting without drying out my lips. No wonder it’s sold out everywhere!
The matching lip pencil glides on so smoothly and can act as a primer for the lipstick so that it stays put.
Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Lipstick and Lip Pencil in Rock Steady
Another of my favourites in the collection includes the lipstick in Rock Steady, a deep wine red, which looks absolutely gorgeous on dark skin tones. I found some of the other red lipsticks in the collection to be a little bit too garish for my liking. But I love this as it glides on and lasts so it’s one of my go-to evening lipsticks.
The packaging is also visually stunning and represents Gwen’s style so perfectly with the the bold statement prints. Actually, the first time I saw it, I thought that it reminded me of the aesthetic of her Sweet Escape music video with the black and gold and geometric prints.
